The "dialogue in tap" sequence in the middle of the number is just extraordinary - both as a concept, and in the way the two of them do it.

And, Richert is devastating in the final moments - going from horror to grief to confusion to so very slowly getting caught up in the energy of the city once again. I've seen this sequence many times in other productions, but watching Richert here is a masterclass.

But - as a musician, one complaint. Terrific as Phil Lang's orchestrations are throughout the score, I feel he dropped the ball at the very end of this number - on the last "second" of "forty-second." (7:24 in the video clip.) The solo trumpet just doesn't land with the climactic sound I think should be there - it should have been more of a big brass section moment. But I know that's me being picky. :-)
