''American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez,'' a new Ryan Murphy miniseries, kicks off tonight (9/17), and its Variety review cited three actors in it who are better-known for their musical-theater credits. Josh Rivera, who's getting raves for playing Hernandez, the NFL superstar-turned-murderer, was Chino in Steven Spielberg's ''West Side Story'' and toured nationally in ''Hamilton.'' Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz plays Bill Belichick, the Patriots coach, and Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck portrays Florida coach Urban Meyer. The cast also includes Tony winner Lindsay Mendez (as Tanya Singleton, Hernandez's cousin) and Tony nominees Tammy Blanchard (as Terri Hernandez, Aaron's mother) and Kerry Butler. This miniseries was cast by two-time Emmy winners Courtney Bright and Nicole Daniels.
