| Yes, she actually came out on to the stage to interrupt a scene she's not part of. Regardless of any kind of agreement regarding encores per her PR team, this is abominable behavior on her part. Her management, probably at her urging, was also trying to save face by saying the conductor wanted to arrange for her to sing an encore of "Vissi d'arte" in the second act. Maybe... What if she messed up her high note or it didn't otherwise go well or receive a big major audience response? Audiences are the ones who usually demand encores, and part of the Italian tradition, which the Korean audience was following by clearly clamoring for that encore from their "hometown hero", allows for that to happen. | |
