| I was 15 years old when I saw him in The Great White Hope. I have seen many great performances since then, but nothing quite like this, and nothing that has made me feel quite the thrill of theater that I felt that night. It has stayed with me for these several decades, and it is as fresh in my mind and in my heart as if I’d seen it last week. A great, great actor indeed. |
