Of the people you mention, I would most like to see Billy Crudup and Amy Ryan. You mention many good actors, though a few seem a bit too old.
I had no problem with the thought of Sarah Paulson as Stevie and thought her fellow Tony winner Jeremy Strong would be a terrific Martin, though neither fit your Pullman/Irwin, Ruehl/Field categorization. No need at all for anybody to be imitated, however; these roles are rich enough to sustain different interpretations. |
