I don't question the Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? reading because Brantley specified "full-dress," clearly excluding it. "Full-dress" may not be the best way to phrase it, but I think the phrase was intended for that purpose. And, obviously, specifying Broadway excluded Fran's Bed. I just think it shouldn't have been excluded, and I think that the article will give many readers the wrong impression that Romantic Comedy was the last time Farrow appeared in a run of a full production in New York. I suppose it could be replied that if readers get that impression, it isn't Brantley's fault. Still, it seems to me that it relegates Off-Broadway to some lower level. |
