I thought Imelda Staunton's Dolly was probably closer to what Ruth Gordon was like in The Matchmaker. Loverly performance, but very different from Carol Channing or Bette Midler or Streisand in the film. The supporting cast was hit or miss for me.

Kiss Me Kate was also hit or miss, but the long shadow of Marin Mazzie/Brian Stokes Mitchell still lives on in my memory.

I did like the now closed Two Strangers Carrying a Cake Across New York and saw the first cast in the delightful Guys and Dolls.

The show I am most interested in is A Face In The Crowd at the Young Vic. Given what is going on with our politics today, this could be a major piece (if done well).
