| Ethel Merman in Hello, Dolly. I know she closed the original Broadway production. But had she opened the show, the extensive revisions the show went through out of town would have likely been quite different and tailored to The Merm's talents. A Merman-originated Dolly would likely have been different than what the show became. I love Dolly and I am glad it is what it is, but it's fun to think of an alternate version. |
