Corrections needed, corrections made; thank you. I don't think "As terrifying as terror is" alters my point: Holzman specifically mentioned the era's political signifiers informing her early work and revision.

UPDATE: The line "As terrifying as terror is" was part of the 2000 revision to a song originally called "Happy Healing Day," with new lyrics circa December 2000. It became "Thank Goodness." Since that was immediately after the election, it's not hard to ascertain some connection to the American state of affairs. Al Qaeda had bombed the Cole in October of 2000.
