Hawke wanted to make the movie 12 years ago, bur director Richard Linklater told him he was ''still too attractive'' then to pull off the role.

Recently wrapped, it is set at the 1943 opening of Rodgers & Hammerstein's ''Oklahoma!'' and chronicles Hart's struggle with alcoholism and depression.

Hawke says ''Blue Moon'' ''might be the hardest I've ever worked in my life'' and ''most challenging,'' so ''I kinda can’t wait for people to see that.”
