| I think part of what makes "Melania" funny is the steeliness, the coldness, the economy of movement. Her sense of "why should I bother expending any energy on your or anyone else." The increasing goofiness that Benanti inserts doesn't really track. It WAS fun when, in the early days of her impression, Melania would let the guard down for a fleeting second to tell you how she really feels, but the balance is all off now. Whatever, I'm quibbling over an impression on a Late Night show. Benanti still rocks. |
