Oh, I think someone brought up on the famous swingin' Bobby Darin song (I think the #1 song of 1959) would be rather shocked/surprised to hear how slowly and differently the song is usually performed in a production of "Threepenny Opera". Did Lotte Lenya ever give her opinion of it? She probably loved the royalties and that Weill's music hit the top of the hit parade 9 years after his death. |
