| I agree. After all, the schwa is the shortest vowel sound in English. But since most actresses who play Madame Armfeldt speak a lot of it on pitch (and sometimes not on pitch), even the actresses who are good singers, it probably doesn't matter if the notes are held as long as the score has them. |
