2 weeks ago TCM showed the uncut version of Darling Lili, which I had never seen on TCM or any other cable TV station. For years the 114 minute version was the only way to see the film. The print was quite good.
I have fond memories of seeing the film at my local cinema in 1970. It was critically lambasted at the time, and it bombed at the box office, but today it comes across as a rather entertaining spoof. Julie Andrews sings beautifully in it. |
