I caught John Davidson on Broadway in ''State Fair,'' but also in ''The Fantasticks'' in 2012 when it played the Snapple Theater Center in NYC.
In 1964, he had played the Boy in the TV version of ''The Fantasticks''; nearly a half-century later, he was playing Henry, the Old Actor, Off-Broadway.
Besides being a wonderful stage performer, Davidson is such a class act. Somehow, he discovered ''Every Night I Sleep With an Angel,'' a beautiful country song that Tom Andersen and Tim DiPasqua wrote. Davidson came to Tom's cabaret show, and recorded the tune for his 2003 ''Goin' Like Sixty'' CD. |
