BROADWAY®: AYER, HOY Y MAÑANA A SPECIAL EXHIBIT HONORING HISPANIC HERITAGE Special Exhibit On-View for Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15 – October 15, 2024 New York, NY – The Broadway League and Museum of Broadway announced today a new special exhibit to celebrate Latiné and Hispanic heritage on Broadway: ¡VIVA! BROADWAY®: ayer, hoy y mañana. The exhibit, created exclusively for The Museum of Broadway in partnership with The Broadway League and with support from the Miranda Family Fund, will launch on September 15th in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit will bring to life ¡Viva! Broadway, The Broadway League's national audience development program that is committed to engaging and inspiring Latiné and Hispanic audiences through activations, media programming, and partnerships. ¡Viva! Broadway is dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the rich cultural heritage of the Latiné and Hispanic communities on Broadway and aims to ensure there is diversity throughout the Broadway industry now and for future generations. "The Broadway League's ¡Viva! Broadway initiative is excited to collaborate with The Museum of Broadway in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the remarkable achievements of Latiné and Hispanic artists on Broadway through an immersive month-long exhibit curated by the museum and the League," said Jason Laks, Interim President of The Broadway League. "Visitors will get the chance to see iconic pieces from favorite Broadway shows up close. About the Artist Artist Soraya Marquez aka Indie184, (born 1980) is a native New Yorker, from Dominican descent, has been active in the graffiti culture for over two decades. Determined to express herself to the world through art, she quit business college to teach herself how to sew, paint and produce graphic design. Also influenced by abstract expressionism and pop art, her paintings are raptures of color and textures. Fused with her original graffiti and street art, imagery, and designs juxtaposed with personal messages. Indie's art has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, including El Museo del Barrio in New York City and Völklingen Ironworks Museum, in Saarbrücken Germany, Museo de Bellas Artes De Murcia in Spain as well as numerous solo and group gallery exhibitions.
