For people who don't have a friend's couch to crash on, the cost of staying a few more days can exceed $1000 in hotel bills, which can be a deal breaker for many. I'm so lucky to have a few beds and couches to call my own for a night or three; otherwise I couldn't afford even a weekend in NYC.
Three shows in a day doesn't bother me- I've done it in London many times where staggered start times were in vogue years ago- but getting up for an 8:00AM flight and then seeing three shows is a task :). I hope no time zones need to be crossed: adding jet lag to the equation would be bad.
