I believe you are referring to MRS. FARMER'S DAUGHTER, book by Jack Eric Williams, Joseph Stockdale, and Tom O'Horgan (who also directed) and music and lyrics by Jack Eric Williams. It was first developed at Pepsico Summerfare in 1983, then produced by the American Music Theatre Festival in Philadelphia in summer of 1984, where it was directed by George Ferencz and appears to have been solely attributed to Williams as its author. Williams is best known for creating the role of Beadle Bamford in SWEENEY TODD on Broadway in 1979.
