I saw it this past Friday night. There were a few coverages-- most notably, Tom Hewitt was out. But I thought his understudy (Sean Donovan) was wonderful! I'm really glad I saw him.
I agree with some of your sentiments below... J Harrison Ghee was a revelation. And the show was often very entertaining. But yes, it needs focus. Right now they don't seem to know if they want the show to be about Jim Williams or The Lady Chablis. They need to make some big changes. But I liked what I saw. I hope they get the show in good place for Broadway. I would totally see it again. |
