| IMO Carousel suffered from two flaws: it should have been shot entirely on location, and secondly, since Gordon MacRae was cast at the last minute he didn't have a chance to dry out and get into shape for the camera. Musically, though, the film sounds gorgeous. One big plus was Frank Sinatra dropping out. |
