You mean it might be offensive to bald ladies who overdid their hair colorings or those whose ages are somewhere between 40 and death? I mean, the song is also tacitly approving of the lesbian relationship between Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, so there's that in its favor. But frankly, I never heard anyone say "Bosom Buddies" is a problematic part of "Mame". Yes, the title song can change the lyrics if need be -- most audiences used to be able to hum the melody, but usually only know a few lyrics here and there, so it's not sacrosanct. Ito as written and traditionally played is a problem. But also Gooch's pregnancy and her big song was meant to get -- and received -- lots of laughter highlighted by her big song. Interestingly, Babcock and the Upsons are actually quite timely -- maybe not all their lines, but who they represent.
