I think one thing that i’m more confused about after the Armory journal (and maybe I wasn’t paying close enough attention) are the songs from the first four journal readers. In the play they seemed to be sharing their personal stories, but this journal makes it seem like they are recounting the main character’s writings.
Beyond that, the journal clarifies the backstory of the main character and deepens it a little although the poetic quality of the narrative mostly works on it own.
To the community member who didn’t like iILLINOISE but did like MOVIN’ OUT, I thought I was going to be in your boat. ILLINOISE surprised me. I would like to revisit it at some point down the road. |
