The journal insert thing was very helpful to read prior to the show; I don't know if I would have followed everything happening without it. I am very surprised it is no longer included in the playbill.

This show was just not for me. I found it to be slog; I found the music to be inert and dull though the singers and musicians were perfectly fine if not excellent. Same with the dancing - expertly performed and I admired it but not enough to be super engaged.

There was one moment that sticks with me. I found the staging and choreography for the suicide sequence on the bridge (I think) to be quite thrilling and moving.

Other than that - I was bored. I think dance pieces are just not for me. Although I really, really liked Movin' Out. I suspect my familiarity and enjoyment of Billy Joel's music elevated the show for me. I also felt that story was very clearly told in the movement. No special insert in the program was required!
