Wikipedia can be useful. There is certainly correct info there, even on theatre. But I would never trust it as a source without double checking the statement. Which would mean going back to the source that is cited for a statement, if one is given. If no source is given for a statement, it would be a bad idea to use it unless you can find a source. Of course, some sources are more trustworthy than others. Any teacher who would encourage students to use it without also making clear that you had better double check anything you find there is doing students a disservice.
Again, though, I don't understand why you said that you found what you said about Champion on wikipedia. Where is it?
