Cole started using they/them a couple of years ago i believe, on IG it says that in the bio and all the recent interviews have referred to them that way or made mention of that. For a long time Cole just identified as a gay male. But here is something I found in a recent interview:
"“I mean, I still think of it more as a clarification than a coming out, because I’ve always felt non-binary and sort of feel as though I’ve behaved non-binary, whatever that means. But it was more just that I was getting tired of people asking me questions like ‘Why do you play females so much?’ as if that was the end, rather than the means, to tell a story. … It’s just closer to how I feel than ‘male’ or ‘female,’ so right now, it’s the closest I can find.”"

So I would be very unsurprised if Cole was fine with a casual "he" as well, their playful view and use of gender now and before, and their through sense of humor, makes it hard to believe they be especially offended or triggered or even bothered... but that said, they went to the trouble to put their pronouns out as "they/them", so that's what I use.
