Fine, compelling play about family, the difficulty of a relationship when one individual is clearly damaged, the struggle to connect, the search for love, and a whole lot of other stuff in another Samuel D. Hunter bleak, but not hopeless Idaho setting. Laurie Metcalf as Sarah and Micah Stock as Ethan deliver very strong performances as aunt and nephew. John Drea is also excellent as Stock's eventual lover James.

Question for anyone who has seen the Steppenwolf production. Near the play's end when James has a phone conversation with Sarah about his getting settled in a new residence, he mentions that Ethan has found a job (I believe) working in some type of store, are we to believe that Ethan is now living with James and that their relationship has solidified?

Anyway, this is a play that is very funny, incredibly sad at times, often riveting, and not to be missed. It will most likely end up in New York in the near future, either off-Broadway or on.
