Lainie Kazan and Lenora Nemetz starred in a production in Miami at the Coconut Grove playhouse
Leslie Uggams was in the one at the Cape Playhouse
The score alone justifies a revival
It's funny back in the day shows like WILDCAT which didn't run as long as THE RINK had half a dozen post Bway productions in stock(not long after) But theatres are terrified of shows like THE RINK and that "no one has heard of it" even though it was written by a famous team...so these theatres do the same OLD/ FAMOUS and VERY RECENT shows....one could sell a show like this that they fear won't sell just as you would sell a new musical and some stars would help. Kudos to the Cape Playhouse for actually doing this one back then. Goodspeed god bless them once did REDHEAD |
