Imelda was fine, but it wasn't a "wow, wow, wow" performance as directed.
This director has toned down the show-busy-ness and made it more contemplative and serious.
I've heard that it's been goosed a bit after the first preview. Hope they made me more bright and gay and less Chekhovian. And added the red dress for the Harmonia Gardens scene. |
