Love me some historical fiction and yes, I would put nothing past Henry VII!
However, the best informed, best researched and most reliable source on Richard III and the princes in the Tower is Alison Weir.
Read her essay below - she comes to the conclusion that Richard indeed ordered the hit.
BTW: Richard III was no better and not that much worse than his predecessors and his successor on the throne.
It was a bloody, merciless era in history. They were all killers.
