Bob Newhart passed away yesterday at age 94. Early in his career he did stand-up comedy in nightclubs, which, of course, is a form of theatre in the broad sense. However, I was reluctant to post about him, since he never appeared in plays or musicals in regional theatre (that I am aware of).

Lou Dobbs died yesterday also. He was one of the worst hate spewing TV commentators.

Actually a true giant of the record industry Doug Fake passed away a few days ago. He was the founder and owner of Intrada Records. He tirelessly for decades supported and promoted the film music of Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Henry Mancini, Dmitri Tiomkin, and others who were also theatre composers. Just two days ago his latest Kickstarter campaign for a more-or-less lost Mancini film score (Abbott and Castello Meet the Keystone Cops) achieved its goal and will be recorded (along with a highly respected Frank Skinner score Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein) for release on CD in 2025.
