I genuinely disliked so much of what was, to my eat at least, the new arrangements of the music, and the way they were allowed or encouraged to sing it, where the melody was lost, the songs didn't sound like the songs anymore, and no one could miss a chance to remind us they can REALLY sing. I hope that's paired back for the album, though then it would be a big misrepresentation of the show I saw and part of why I thought it was such a failure of a production of The Wiz.
I also saw it in LA, and I also couldn't hear half the words, and I know the score inside and out. |
