Well, perhaps you saw what happened when they tried to "complete" (i.e. update, which is what you really mean) Company. It was (IMO) an inconsistent, rambling mess. There's a show that should remain set in the time it was written to be in. I'm not sure why works of art need to be "complete" when they still speak to us as they are.
That said, I think we can be always thankful that Sondheim never had to write a song that deals in any way with the (now earless) orange thing. Let's leave it at that. |
