This site creams over Broadway every day. The Theater Hall of Fame is Broadway-centric. For Charles Busch, this sensibility is to be suspended because he has a coterie of influential devotees. I get that; dissent should still be registered.

Again, despite a prominent theatrical career, he has never acted on Broadway. His one hit Broadway play was dependent on Linda Lavin’s monumental performance.

His slew of barely remembered enjoyable campy Off-Broadway plays showcased himself. Does anyone here posit that The Lady in Question or Die, Mommie, Die!, are great works of dramatic literature? Were his shitcky performances in these vehicles up there with those of the likes of Jason Robards, Maureen Stapleton and Christopher Plummer?

Hey, he will be inducted into The Theater Hall of Fame, I accept the epithets for calling out this unjustified honor.
