| The original post is disgustingly mean-spirited. And despite what the Theater Hall of Fame website might say, those guidelines are clearly outdated. Look at the list of inductees and you'll find many people without significant ties to Broadway -- especially people whose careers were grounded in regional theater (e.g., Zelda Fichandler) or avant-garde performance (e.g., Julian Beck). Should they be retroactively kicked out? What about Charles Ludlam, Adrienne Kennedy (whose first Broadway credit as a playwright came in 2022 at the age of 91), Amiri Baraka, or Brooks Atkinson? |
