| On Broadway World there is a quote Laila Erica Drew, who plays Phillys recently reacted on Instagram. "Since we wanna talk about erasure, thanks for trying to erase the work I do in this show," she wrote. "Now I definitely know nobody cares that I'm baring my soul and my ancestral pain on stage every single night. Especially the people who claim to be fighting for us but in the same breath say they want to 'cancel' one of the only shows on Broadway that addresses Black erasure." She is wrong about one thing: People do care except for these alleged "radical,anti-racist, queer feminists" Please remember that in 2016 much misinformation was spread to try and divide those centrists and persons left of center amongst themselves. Since the issue they were seeming to protest had been addressed between the show's run at the Public and Broadway opening and they seemed to have made no attempt to discover that, I am suspicious of their actions or of whoever encouraged those actions. |
