In a way, this kind of thing rather demeans their talents, as not only did they speak or sing their words, but they did it with specific intention and for precise communication, elevating it to art. So these purveyors of AI might not have as big a bundle of loot coming to them as they think they have with this thing. Olivier's films aren't shown too much outside of TCM in the U.S., and Garland isn't really known by the general public younger than say 50 other than as Dorothy (and they might not know her as Judy Garland, just as Dorothy). "The Wizard of Oz" is shown every year still, and the wonderful "Meet Me in St. Louis" among her other films is shown on TCM. But it's rather niche nowadays. As newer celebrities come and eventually go, it probably makes more sense for AI to try to conjure up more contemporary ones that would be more marketable for its inventors. However, these more contemporary ones are more in a position to sue. Btw, I've seen photos of Robert Redford as clues on "Jeopardy"; he and other 1970s film stars have drawn blanks (or wrong answers) from all three contestants on a number of occasions. A lot of fame fades, even for some of the hugely successful in their time and some of the great ones.
