Don't forget off-broadway... he did Dogfight at 2nd Stage and A Man of No Importance at LCT Mitzi.
But yes it is entirely possible he's not keen on directing musicals much anymore, or at least unless they are really rich in artistic merit or will make him even richer (which he obviously doesn't need with Wicked making him rich over the last 20 years and on).
