| I just posted lower in the thread an echo of how much I dislike the added trio at the end of Steps But I'll say, if you want some in the cast to have more to do, put in Our Little World. It's a fantastic song, adds genuinely to the themes, and gives Rapunzel much more time to shine. Jack, Little Red and Cinderella have plenty, the trio doesn't give them anything they don't already have. The Witch has plenty too, but at least this song gives Rapunzel much more too. I think there are reasons Our Little World is not included in most productions, and I'm not sure I'd include it in mine (I'd MUCH sooner add back the extended "A Very Nice Prince" section that's on the OBC album but not in the show anymore, and the extended Witch's Lament, also on the album but not in the show... both I think add tremendously, and take up very little time, collectively i don't even think they're half as long as Our Little World. Sigh)... but if your goal is to give the cast more, that's a good one. |
