Regarding Cynthia Erivo, at the performance I attended (Saturday matinee), she did seem detached - so much so that she lost her place during The Miller's Son and had to stop the show. She called out to Tunick a couple of times until he finally realized she'd stopped singing the lyrics and needed him to stop conducting. She quipped "Live theatre" when he stopped conducting and then she resumed the song and brought it to a satisfying conclusion. But overall, I thought Ruthie Ann Miles was the best of the bunch and found that other than the glorious sounding St. Luke's Orchestra, this concert was pretty limp.
