| He’s characterized the entire Tampa Fringe Festival as a “sexual festival where they’re doing all this stuff.” Stuff like gospel singing, poetry reading, children’s theatre, storytelling, a musical, standup and sketch comedy—120 events over twelve days. But Gov. Deathsantis noticed a sex-farce-mystery, “Captain Havoc and the Big Titty Bog Witches,” that played TWO performances to audiences aged 18:and older, and decided to veto $32 million state funding for over 600 arts and culture programs and organizations. The Fringe was to get about $7400. This grant money was previously vetted and approved by a panel Deathsantis appointed, and was passed by the Republican state legislature. But now he says, “ooh, look, sexual festtivals! We can’t spend your tax dollars on that!
