| Playwright and Director In Prison in Russia !! |

There is a deeply disturbing front page story in the New York Times of Wednesday June 26. A Russian playwright and director of a play condemning
terrorism are accused of furthering terrorism. What is really crazy is that the play received all sorts of financial grants from the
government before all this. Can anyone suggest a way to get an English translation of the script ? You'd have to read it before organizing a protest of some kind.
But this censorship is truly frightening.
The play is called "Finist the Brave Falcon" by Svetlana Petriychuk and the director is Yevgenia Berkovich. There is a photo of them on trial on
Page 8. They have been IN JAIL FOR A YEAR because of their play. !!%!!! |
