| The idea of the pre-Broadway cruise is a good one, but unfortunately we go into rehearsal tomorrow, with our first performance on July 4, a day on which some shows cancel their evening performance (thus enhancing the odds that anyone will show up). One other piece of bad news. The NY Times has informed me that our ads will have to use a redacted version of the show title. It will have to appear as "The Sh*t Show." FYI Everyone on this board is aware of your sentiments vis-a-vis rap music. As you may recall, this is precisely why we chose it. P.S. If you think it is a good idea, since we will not have time for the cruise tryout, we could replicate the experience by putting the audience through the pre-show rituals instituted for Cabaret, and have the house carpenter bolt all exits shut, from the outside. P.S. #2 I am jealous of the weather in SF at the moment compared to ours. It is exactly 31 degrees cooler there at the moment than here. As you pack for your red-eye tonight to get here in time for tomorrow's first rehearsal, you may want to consider the temperature differential. |
