Yes, at the performance I saw as well.

I thought everything clicked with this. The adaptation, filtered through a contemporary American lens, was true to Ibsen. Eliminating Stockman's wife succeeded in making him that much more isolated. Gold's direction was surprisingly assured and appropriate. Strong did indeed earn his Tony (I hope he returns to the NY stage soon), Imperioli would surely have been a nominee had this not been the year of Stereophonic and their castmates were right at home with them.

I am grateful to have seen it.
