Polly Bergen. No one mentioned Polly Bergen performance in the Roundabout version which had many theatre legends. Her performance of “I’m Still Here” was brilliant and so much about her and brought tears as she left NY and wound up doing movies etc. and she had returned to NY after all those years appearing in “Cabaret”. she actually was the first performer I wrote a fan mail to after her TV Show and appearances on “To Tell The Truth” and the first performer I got to know.
Her tendition of the song brought tears and she was nominated for a Tony. You can see that performance on You Tube. |
