54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Nick Cartell: A Thousand Spotlights on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 7:00pm, in celebration of the release of his upcoming album of the same name. The album A Thousand Spotlights is currently available on all digital platforms for pre-sale and will be officially released July 26, 2024. The album is produced and orchestrated by Brian Eads and Wayne Haun through Club 44 Records and distributed by The Orchard and Sony Music Entertainment.

Currently starring as Jean Valjean in the North American tour of Les Misérables, Nick Cartell has now played the iconic role over a thousand times. This triumphant return to 54 Below will be a collection of Cartell's never-before-heard stories of his time on the road with Les Miz, Broadway runs of the 2012 revival of Jesus Christ Superstar; Scandalous: The Musical and Paramour interwoven with songs from the album: Broadway, Disney, some jazz, and some that didn't make the cut. An intimate evening filled with humor and heart bringing him back "home" to NYC.

The evening is arranged and music directed by Brian Eads (Les Misérables, the album A Thousand Spotlights), with special guests Phoenix Best (Teeth, Les Misérables, Dear Evan Hansen, The Color Purple) and Casey Likes (Back To The Future, Almost Famous).

"It's not Cartell's first time playing Prisoner 24601, and it shows — the tenor effortlessly shows off his thundering chest voice in the musical's first act before transitioning to a bright falsetto as Valjean softens in a show-stopping rendition of "Bring Him Home"" – Variety

Nick Cartell: A Thousand Spotlights plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 7:00pm. Cover charges are $51 (includes $6 in fees) - $62 (includes $7 in fees.) Premiums are $100.50 (includes $10 in fees.) There is a $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.org. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00pm are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.

MORE ABOUT NICK CARTELL:
Nick Cartell has made a triumphant return to the role he inhabited for two-and-a-half years pre-pandemic, once again playing prisoner 24601, aka Jean Valjean, on the North American tour of Les Misérables!

Nick made his Broadway debut in the Tony® nominated 2012 revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, understudying and performing the roles of Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot, and the High Priest Annas. He followed that up by again understudying (mostly-naked) men in a (religion-based) musical story at the very same theater in Scandalous: The Musical, penned by "The Today Show" host Kathie Lee Gifford and can be heard on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. Nick also appeared in Paramour, the first musical produced by Cirque Du Soleil, where he was a standby for and performed the three male lead roles. Nick's first national touring experience was across the U.S. and Canada in The Phantom of the Opera, where he understudied Raoul. Nick has enjoyed performing regionally and singing with the South Coast Symphony, Phoenix Symphony and as a member of the critically-acclaimed group The Broadway Boys. In March 2019, he performed his first solo show, Bringing It Home, to a sold-out room at 54 Below.

A graduate of Arizona State University with a BFA in Theatre, Nick enjoyed a stint in Japan performing with a certain famous Mouse. While there he met his incredible wife, actress Christine Cartell. Together, they have scaled the Great Wall, climbed Mt. Fuji, are producing this show and have also produced three iterations of Broadway Fights Ovarian Cancer, a benefit concert raising funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer research, in honor of Nick's late mother. The Cartells' finest collaboration to date is their little girl, who insists she will someday play Little Cosette.
