The problem here is that we just can't do that. We can't tell any given person how we'd like them to handle that emotional moment. It's THEIR moment to do what they want with. Even Mark Rylance has that right to free, if eccentric, speech.
Remember the year they tried to stave off the list of thank-yous by having them appear on the screen so they didn't have to be said? It didn't work. It didn't work because it really needs to be the recipient's decision on what they say, who they thank, and how.
