| Coming down from a viewership of 25 million in the 1970s, to what has been 3.5-4.2 million over the past 3 or 4 years says it all. The only good year for the Tonys on TV was 2016, I think, the HAMILTON year, when viewership bumped up a bit, then dropped right back down the next year. In 1 974 viewership was 12% of the US population. Today it is 1%. |
