| What a total catastrophe folks. Broadway has lost its collective mind. Nothing about this awards ceremony made any sense or worked to foster love for live theater until Groff arrived on stage three hours into an interminable evening. He was incredibly real and moving while everything else about this show rang phony. I haven’t seen “Outsiders” but that excerpt on the awards show won’t sell five tickets. It was ugly and instantly forgettable. It’s so sad that this is what Broadway has become. A bunch of flawed shows being pawned off on an unsuspecting public. The one glaring exception of course being “Marrily.” Thank god there was a scintilla of justice anmid all the dreck. |
