I liked “Back to the Future” enough- I was certainly entertained and the designs & illusions were spectacular! It did not move the genre forward in an artistic way, but was great fun and Broadway-worthy. In a season without full-theatre reconstructions (Cabaret/ Here Lies Love), “Back to the Future” might have been more in the conversation for the design awards.
