Here's the Variety review of the ART production of The Great Gatsby, and the review says the show focuses on the non-existence of the American Dream for the Have-nots. But...what about the Haves who provide the enhancement money for the production? Where do they fit in?
I keep thinking of a song lyric from "Ain't We Got Fun" (a 1920s song) used in the 1974 movie version: "The rich get rich and the poor get children."
